Description

Poly Bridge 2 is a puzzle simulation game where you construct bridges in order to allow vehicles to cross. It is designed for Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux.

The objective of the game is to construct bridges that allow vehicles to cross from one end to the other. If a bridge is not strong enough for the vehicle, it will fall and game play will resume. There are no points given for failing a bridge. Players can achieve 3 medals depending on how long their bridges last before they fall: Bronze (1-5 seconds), Silver (6-10 seconds), Gold (11-30 seconds).

The interface of the game is with your mouse and keyboard. You move tiles by clicking on the appropriate tile and dragging it to where you want it to be. Tiles can be stacked and rotated by holding down a key and moving it around with your mouse. To add a tile to the bridge, click on the tile you wish to add, then shift-click on another tile in which you wish to place it.

The blue bar indicates how long until the bridge falls if no vehicles are crossing.

Your score is a percentage of how long the bridge lasted in seconds. When the bridge falls, you will be scored on your time so far.

After each level you will be given 3 medals depending on how long your bridge lasted and how fast it fell during the time it was open to vehicles. A bronze medal is awarded if the bridge lasted 1-5 seconds, silver if 6-10, and gold if 11-30.

There is also a score board displayed at the top right corner of the screen that records your current time as well as your best time for each level. Hovering over it will display the best times for each level.

The game is divided into 5 stages each with 10 levels. The first 4 stages have 50 levels, while the last stage has only 20. Each level includes one or more vehicles and their destinations. Vehicles appear at a random time after the bridge is built and they move to their destination by following the path of your bridge. If a vehicle reaches its destination before your bridge falls, you will be awarded points on your score and a new vehicle will appear for the next level. The goal of each level is to try and get a gold medal or higher.

At certain points in the game, you will be able to purchase vehicles that will help you with your construction. These purchases are limited to only one for each level for a certain amount of money. Vehicles will also sometimes appear for free after you have built part of the bridge. Vehicles that appear for free will also disappear if your bridge falls before they reach their destination.

There are a variety of vehicle types that appear throughout the game. Some vehicles can jump, others can fly or even teleport, and others don't move at all. This adds variety to the game and makes it difficult to build bridges just like in real-life construction situations. Vehicles also have different sizes, weights, and strengths. Even though vehicles have strengths and weaknesses, heavier vehicles are actually more likely to fall on a bridge than lighter ones with the same size. This trade-off is also present in real life construction.

There are 3 ways in which you can build bridges: by hand, with a crane, or with a prefabricated bridge.

To build bridges by hand, drag each tile to where you want it to be. Tiles can be stacked and rotated by holding down a key and moving it around with your mouse. To add a tile to the bridge, click on the tile you wish to add, then shift-click on another tile in which you wish to place it. To delete tiles, right-click on the tile.

To build bridges with a crane, drag each piece of the crane onto the screen and place them by clicking on where you want them to be. To rotate the pieces, hold down a key and move them. Place the crane as close to your objective as possible so that you do not have to travel far. When you start a level, vehicles will be added at random locations in your vicinity.

To build bridges with prefabricated bridge pieces, click on them and place them wherever you wish by holding down a key while moving your mouse around. The game will automatically rotate the pieces when they are placed in random locations.

Poly Bridge 2 is an interesting game designed to model real-life construction situations. The gameplay is easy to understand and the interface is easy to use.
